Dance-Shaping Lives through creative movement is a wonderful read exploring an array of different elements of dance as a godly art form. This book has a wealth of experience and revelation of lessons that the authors have learnt on their journey through their ministry. The authors explore topics such as creating a dance team; dance through the prophetic, worship praise and warfare and exploring different styles of choreography. These chapters from start to finish ooze the heart of making disciples whilst reclaiming dance as a Godly art form. Moreover, the authors want to encourage members of the body to actively be part of being Disciples of Christ. By creating pieces and performances that not only are in line with the heart of God through but also in line with the heart of the leader.

...is broken down into the three core disciplines of Acting, Dance and Singing. The Saturday school is a 10 week course with a one week half term break. All classes take place in Summit House in Hanger Lane. We use the Saturday school as a training ground for people to develop their crafts and skills so that when we put on productions or sketches for conferences that is where we get our casts from. There is so much raw talent on Kt it's incredible to see the potential that is in hundreds of our congregational members; the Saturday school offers an intimate and safe environment for people to learn, improve and shine. The teachers are to an incredibly high standard and are all working or have worked in the industry. Our aim is to equip the church in their gifting and talents so that each individual can truly step into their full potential.
The general level classes are for those that have a passion for their chosen discipline but haven't had very much experience in that field before. It is also at a comfortable level for someone that perhaps did some training quite some time ago and so works as a great refresher to get started. Our advanced classes take the student to that deeper level and at a much faster pace.
Our course content is not repeated so every term it's a different outlook.
Acting general: Here we look a wide range of acting techniques and skills and develop the use of them. Looking at how they are used in character and theme development. We also strive to maintain a Christian ethos and Bible affiliation throughout the course.
Dance general: This vibrant and energetic class focuses on improving fitness, confidence and developing basic co-ordination skills. The students learn about timing and rhythm, as well as fun dance choreographies. The urban dance flavours are a big hit with the students and their audiences when they perform at the end of term show case.
Singing general: here we work on singing technique doing various singing exercises and scales. We work on breathing, timing and overall performance. We learn how to sing in harmonies, and how to listen and blend together as a group. We also work on improvisation, learning to use your musical ear to enhance a song with improvised melodies and harmonies.
Stage production: This course aims for the student to develop a greater understanding of all the different departments and their roles in putting on a successful production. The course content has a strong theoretical base which also offers practical experience in all areas. Some of the key areas are as follows: scheduling set design, performance analysis, lighting, stage management, cameras, sound and using the KT screen. Practically students get to plan and execute a lighting plot, man the cameras along with developing their microphone technique and being part of a sound check. These are just a few of the practical elements that the course entails. It is enlightening and educating to the world of stage production whilst also being fun and at a good pace. This course is for anyone with an interest ion stage production or even a performer that would like to get a greater insight into this side of production.
