Since the mid 1980's Kensington Temple has been planting churches. Things started slowly but by the end of the nineties over 150 churches had been planted. Today the focus is on seeing these churches grow to maturity.
In the 1980's under the leadership of Pastor Wynne Lewis a number of key leaders were sent out from Kensington Temple to plant churches; in this time new plants were established in places like Barnet, Hendon and Hackney. As Wynne Lewis became General Superintendent of the Elim Pentecostal Church so Colin Dye took over as the senior pastor. Under Colin's leadership the vision to see a city church established was born. This was to be a church, called the London City Church that is capable of impacting and influencing London and then the world for Christ. This network of independent and interdependent churches grew until it encompassed around 10 000 - 12 000 people in 130 satellite churches as well as five congregations meeting in the Kensington Temple building.
In July 2000 the network started the transition into the G12 vision. The focus is now upon seeing the satellite churches grow and become strong in the cell vision.
