How the Denomination Decides
Congratulations to Rev Mark Ryan, and his wife Kathy, who has been appointed to Kensington Temple as the new Senior Minister from 16 October 2021. The long search for my successor is over and I will soon be able focus on my wider prophetic and apostolic ministry to the nations.
Many may be wondering about the process the Elim denomination follows in appointing Elim ministers to local churches. The full name of our Charity is the Elim Foursquare Gospel Alliance (EFGA). We operate nationally and locally as a single charity (No 251549). The Governing Body is our National Conference which comprises national office holders, ministers and lay representatives from our local churches.
The National Leadership Team (NLT), of which I am a long-standing member, has certain delegated responsibilities including the appointment of ministers. This process is relatively straight forward.
Whenever there is a vacancy in a church, the NLT prayerfully proposes a name to the local church governing body (in our case the KTLCC Church Board). If the local board feels that the candidate may be suitable, they invite him or her for an interview. After careful consideration the board may then indicate to the NLT their willingness to accept the new minister as their leader. The NLT then appoints that minister to the church in question.
While the authority to appoint a minister to a church lies with the NLT, all involved are part of the process, including the minister who is free to accept or reject the offer of appointment.
That is the procedure. But what about the Holy Spirit? Does he have a role? Every Christian organisation worthy of the name will place the Holy Spirit above all human deliberation. They will want to be able to say about all their decisions, “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us” (Acts 15:28). Notice the Holy Spirit is mentioned first. His leading is the all-important thing.
Please pray for Mark and Kathy Ryan. They believe that God has truly called them to KTLCC and are looking forward to ministering among us.

[3 minute read] Many who hold to the theory of evolution wonder what’s in store for the human race. Are we going to evolve into a new superhuman, even divine human species? As is often the case with questions only recently conceived, the Bible anticipated and answered this one thousands of years ago.
[6 minute read] The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Jesus came to bring you the full and abundant life of His kingdom. This life, is the rich, spiritual life of God Himself that overflows into His creation. When God made the world, He provided for it in abundance. It was teeming with life!
