Kensington Temple London City Church place the highest priority on ensuring children, young people and vulnerable adults are safe and secure. This new role would ensure a dedicated staff member is assigned and available to respond to safeguarding concerns or issues as they arise. The successful applicant will be proactive in upholding up to date laws and standards that concern welfare and safeguarding and have previous experience in such a role.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure via DBS.
Purpose of the role include:
- Co-ordination of safeguarding policies and procedures in the church
- Being the first point of contact for safeguarding issues and to ensure all identified issues are addressed
- Being an advocate for good safeguarding practice in the church
Requirements of the role include:
- Being up to date with all new safeguarding laws and ensure staff are up to date with their training
- Ensure that staff are fully trained with up to date information
- Having knowledge of policy and practice for safeguarding children and or adults at risk
- Effective communication (written and oral skills0
- Being able to influence organisational behavioural change
