WELCOME
TALKING HANDS FELLOWSHIP IS A MINISTRY IN KT REACHING OUT TO DEAF PEOPLE.
This friendly group is made up of profoundly deaf, deafened, hard of hearing and hearing people with a vision to reach deaf* people in London and the world for Jesus Christ.
The ministry was established in 1994, to welcome deaf people into KT and provide the means, by which they may be part of the Church family and access meetings and teachings, in their language, in order to understand, appreciate and grow in their faith and become disciples of Jesus Christ.
The primary focus of the ministry in the past was to facilitate the inclusion of deaf people by providing a loop system for hearing aid users and signing for British Sign Language (BSL) users.
It is God who heals- only He knows the day and the hour the healing will occur. As we wait, we facilitate the inclusion of the deaf in our services. We serve in expectation of the day when those who want may receive the greatest miracle of all- the miracle of Salvation; when a measure of faith is imparted into lives and change occurs in hearts and minds with the desire to live God’s way – Hebrews 11:1.
Are you looking for a Church that believes that deaf people are included in John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31 and Matthew 28: 18-20, the great commission, and you want to serve God with other deaf and hearing people? We invite you to join us.
*The term deaf – includes people with all levels of deafness/hearing loss
THE FELLOWSHIP
Talking Hands is more than a group, we are a family. We support one another and care for each other.
The Fellowship as part of KT LCC, which is a Cell Church, has established Cell groups in the North, South, East and West of London. This makes caring and supporting each other possible. Our Cell Groups meet once a week and are led by deaf members.
Every Sunday signing is provided at the 11am service. To request BSL signing at other KT events (welcome parties, prayer meetings, etc), please email us on info@kt.org
SIGNERS
KT/THF is very fortunate and blessed to have signers committed and dedicated to the ministry.
Signers are supported with a training and development programme. Every two weeks we focus on developing our receptive, production and translation skills. Furthermore, we spend time in the word and ministering to each other. Qualifications range from BSL Level 1 to BSL NVQ Level 4.
