In our quest to be more like Christ, we sometimes forget that Jesus gave us the blueprints in his word for how we too can fight the good fight (1 Timothy 6:12) and do even greater works than Him (John 14:12-14).

Jesus’ ministry was founded on connection. He had a strong relationship with the Father and the outpouring of this loving relationship was extended to his disciples, and the lost. The Scriptures tell us that Jesus spent time with His disciples (John 3:22) and would make time to teach the lost because he had compassion on them (Mark 6:34).

Without these connections the very gospel as we know it would have not even reached us as there would have been no disciples to carry it. Why then, do we see connections with other people as a nice to have and not a priority? If we are truly to answer to the mandate that we have been given: go out into the world and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20), we need to make room for others. It’s that simple.

We as the body of Christ, need to come together in unity as God intended (1 Corinthians 12:21).
